New Braunfels Secrets that You Didn't Know Existed

There are thousands of reasons that New Braunfels is the best place to live! Some of our residents have been selfishly hoping that New Braunfels would never change a single bit, but it has become  one of the most desirable cities to relocate to and our population is growing.  New ideas and businesses are taking off here & that --coupled with long-standing businesses that newer residents don't know about yet-- make New Braunfels a trove of hidden treasures. 

But we're no good at keeping secrets...

Don't let the name dissuade you, It's not much of a "store," but this (back)roadside attraction has been serving the best hamburgers and fries anywhere since 1889. Open Tuesday - Sunday, Freiheit has BBQ cook-offs, Karaoke and even Weddings!

This Mom-and-Pop shop is on-time, friendly and fun. . . And here's the secret: jumpy castles are not just for kids anymore.  They offer awesome, adult-proof versions, too.

4- Gourmet Ice Co.

These are the what's what of Snow Cones.  Healthy and wholesome artesian blends are available at their shop or even catered, year round.  What's not a secret is the ingredients: natural cane sugar, fresh fruit & herbs.  You'll feel good about yourself for frequenting this place.

5- New York Pizza Pub

This little joint just might fool you into thinking you're in New York.  It serves the best pizza you will ever have, ever.   The Owner/Operators are awesome and there's free Capri Suns for the kids.

If you've been anywhere near this place, you've probably noticed the huge silo out front, but what you may not know is that this is a Family Run establishment that is seriously faster, cleaner and greener than your run-of-the-mill car wash.  And they have free vacuums. I like free things.

Serving up Juice out of an Airstream alongside the Harley Davidson store, this Coffee Shop - Gluten Free Restaurant is the first of it's kind, hence, it's name: rev·o·lu·cion: a sudden, complete or marked change in something: a new way of doing things.  Try it and you'll feel 10x hipper by the sip.

8- Rita's Natural Food Market

This family operation has been open since 2009, but no GPS can find it, most people accidentally discover it while they're out-and-about looking for something else.  And what you'll find inside will turn you into a regular right away.  It's a small shop, so it only has room for the very best-of-the-best. What sets Rita's apart from other Natural Foods stores is their discount pricing that can't be beat.

New Braunfels hasn't had an Apartment Locating Service like this before: the Haus Hunter is on top of availability, specials, pricing and has relationships with the most desirable apartment complexes across town.  If you're looking to rent, this free service will save you time and money.  Apartment Home Occupany is tight in New Braunfels, and this has been a word-of-mouth only operation. Until now.

Visiting this sweet, locally-owned Pharmacy is nothing like your typical experience waiting to pickup or refill prescriptions elsewhere.  For the same co-pay, you'll experience a serene environment serviced by pharmacists who exhibit a genuine interest in you and your family's health.  If you need an Over-The-Counter Remedy, they will thoughtfully help you select the right product and if they don't have it on hand, they happily make recommendations. . . if they're able, they'll place orders just for you.  The same goes for Medical Equipment.  They have a wide selection but if for some reason they don't have what you are shopping for, they can often get next day delivery.  Big Plus: This is also a Compounding Pharmacy.  So glad they've set up shop here in Gruene.
